SPHR researchers from LiLaC (Liverpool) and Cambridge have developed an evaluation tool for Age-Friendly City initiatives that has been applied in Liverpool.
In May team members met with stakeholders from Liverpool City Council and the CCG to feed back the findings from the research and discuss potential next steps in the city’s efforts to enhance its age-friendliness. Work to pilot the tool in a number of other settings is underway.
The study has recently been presented at the International Sociological Association conference (Vienna); the British Society of Gerontology Annual Conference (Stirling); the International Federation on Ageing 13th Global Conference (Brisbane); and the Liverpool Older People’s Conference (Liverpool). Three publications and a policy briefing paper are in preparation, and the evaluation tool will be made available online.
