Equal North network: The welfare system and mental health

10:00 - 15:45

King’s House Conference Centre, Sidney Street, Manchester, M1 7HB

This workshop will bring together policy-makers, practitioners and researchers to explore the relationship between mental health and the welfare system.

The workshop will focus on how the welfare system can help promote employment and social inclusion of people with mental health problems, as well as good mental health. The event also aims to establish ways to build better evidence to support local action for promoting mental health and the employment of people with mental health problems. It will also aim to identify future research priorities on mental health and welfare.

Event is free with lunch and refreshments provided. If you have any dietary or access requirements please contact Victoria Morgan.

Equal North Network

The Equal North network expands the existing ‘Equal North’ network developed by the Northern members of NIHR School for Public Health Research (Fuse; LiLaC; University of Sheffield) and Public Health England (PHE) North, set up to take forward the recommendations of the Due North report, which included tackling poverty and economic inequality within the North and between the North and the rest of England.
