Virtual event
A key aspect of a successful research career in public health is the ability to communicate your research effectively to the public.
To help develop your skills in this area SPHR have teamed up with Duncan Yellowlees, an expert in communicating research to different audiences, who will deliver communication training for our SPHR Phd students and Fellows.
This session will focus on developing content for presentations to the public, and will be a great opportunity to work on the structure, preparation and framing of a ‘three-minute thesis’ style presentation.
After this session you should be able to:
- Learn the 3 core concepts to good presentations
- Be able to pitch to different audiences
- Use my presentation design canvas to build your 3 minutes or longer
- Find the value in preparation and practice
After this session our PhD students will be asked to submit an entry to our virtual three-minute thesis competition.
