Addressing inequalities is at the heart of what we do.
Children and young people in the UK face higher levels of poor health than children living in other countries across the world. The early life of a child shapes their emotional, intellectual, behavioural and health development. Enabling children and young people to achieve their full potential and be physically and emotionally healthy provides the foundation for a healthy, productive adulthood.
Our research takes advantage of the rich mix of expertise and methods represented within the School including child health, mental health, social care, economics, inequalities, behaviour change, policy, qualitative methods, quantitative methods, data linkage and systems mapping.
Our research focuses on how a child’s environment can impact health and how we can influence policy to improve children’s health across England.
