The ageing well programme worked to develop an integrated public health approach to optimise health in older age groups. It built on four building blocks: a) risk prediction and stratification, b) synthesis and development of evidence about current practice and equity, c) identification and evaluation of preventive interventions tailored for gains in health and well-being; d) population modelling.
The programme, consisted of six core projects, a cross-cutting cognitive health theme, and over thirty collaborators from all NIHR SPHR member institutions. The combined outputs will strengthen the evidence base to address key areas of concern for government and society.
