SPHR researchers at the University of Birmingham (part of the PHRESH Consortium), University of Bristol and Fuse (Durham University) – worked with a range of professionals and families connected to school holiday provision to produce ‘A guide to good school holiday provision’.
This guidance document is intended to be used by commissioners, local authority and core teams coordinating school holiday provision, as well as providers of government-funded school holiday programmes. An ‘at a glance’ document is also provided.
Watch a longer video of local authority and provider experiences.
The process of developing the guidance highlighted a wide range of good practice being carried out across the country. Some examples can be viewed in the case studies section, including five written reports (with links to specific local authority reports and resources) and two summary videos. Further information about the project can be viewed on the HAF-DEFINE project website page. For publications, briefings and vignettes arising from the project, please also the HAF DEFINE webpage.
